Default Getting to desert without doing missions?

Just curious. Is it possible to get to the desert without doing any missions? I ask because I just saw a lvl 1 player in Fishermen's Haven begging to be run to Sanctum Cay. It made me wonder if he could make it all the way to the desert and still be lvl 1.

Thanks.

Not possible to run to desert from Sanctum Cay. This is one journey only possible by doing the mission.

For some reason I'm thinking the experience required to get to level 2 was in the 2500 range. So technically doing only the bare minimum of quests to get out of pre-searing and then having someone run through all of the zones in order to get you to Sanctum Cay, and then doing the Sanctum Cay mission for 1000 experience, you COULD end up in the desert at level 1, but you'd be really close to level 2 at that point.

With the changes to ascension made a few weeks ago, those people could possibly end up in Dragon's Lair at perhaps level 10 or so (doing all 3 missions in the desert and then doing the mirror (if they can beat it) but I don't think they could be less than level 10 in Dragon's Lair. The experience you'd automatically gain just by doing the roadblocks would bump them up to around that level (give or take a level or two.)

Why someone would want to do this is beyond me though.

I'm guessing he is either doing it to show he can or he has no idea that they change ascension so you no longer get an auto 20.

There's a movie of a level 3 ascension. He did it for bragging rights, and because he was bored. His guildies pulled him throught.
